Does
the thought of spending time with family this holiday season seem overwhelming?
For some people it is a fast paced event marked with joy and happiness. Yet some
people dread the holidays because of separation from loved ones, or the hassles
of holiday travel. Here are some tips to make your special days more enjoyable.
Remember
when you were a child, and the big day couldnt come soon enough? Children have
a lot of fun preparing for events well in advance. Then the anticipation explodes
into joy. Christmas time brings anticipation for everyone, yet you should not
let that feeling turn into apprehension. Prepare yourself like the kids do, and
you will learn to enjoy the moments leading up to the celebration day. Start
your gift purchasing well in advance. The average person has a lot of gifts to
buy every year. Consider purchasing part of your gifts online this season. Online
shopping makes sense when you plan ahead for the normal 10 day delivery time.
Most gifts should be purchased online by December 10 just to be safe. Just as
with physical stores, Christmas sales start appearing on the internet after Halloween.
There are some popular online shopping links included in the authors resource
box. If
holiday travel worries you, reserve your trips agenda well before the departure
date. Planning ahead of time will relieve some of the stress associated with holiday
travel. Buy your toiletries and pack some of the items for your trip a couple
weeks in advance so as to lessen the time you have to spend packing. This saves
time because you will already be half done right before you get ready to leave
for your vacation. When
your group gets together for the holidays be sure to have a lot of activities
planned. Dont let the party get dull! Christmas music, movies and popcorn, board
games, and ceremonial Christmas tree decorating by the kids will keep everyone
happy and glowing. Make sure you have healthy snacks like cheese on crackers and
some light juice to serve. Heavy snacks like cookies have sugar that will stimulate
your guests at first, but slow them down later. Above
all remember the fact that memories are made by people who love one another. The
best of times will happen smoothly and easily if you plan ahead and leave your
guests with the feeling of a holiday well spent having fun with you. Hey, a party
is a party! Be a part of the season this season with all your friends. Turn up
the fun and let the good times roll! Marc
